Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Sixty-Eight.

I worked a funeral this morning at church and acquired some easy money working the sound board. Fader goes up. Fader goes down. Free lunch. It was kind of weird going to a funeral for someone that you didn't know and therefore don't really care about.

On a more lively note, it was my Grandpa's 85th birthday today. Older people are so hard to buy for. Mom and I did some brainstorming and came to the conclusion that he needs a project, so we went to LEGO land in the Mall of America and bought him one of the fancy "architecture" LEGO sets of the White House. Odd tangent: Today was also Barack Obama's b-day who lives in the White House. Anyways, while I was in the mall, I went to the Apple store to finally buy Patty a birthday gift. I know, it is like 2 weeks late, but I think (hope) she will forgive my lameness.

After going to the mall, I decided to read the script that HM sent to me in the mail (the one that I am light and sound designing). The play is called Thrill Me. It is a pretty intense show, and I look forward to working on it.

After reading the script, the whole family went over to my grandparent's house to celebrate this milestone. Almost all of the extended family was there. We (as per tradition) played 4-square.

Later,
~Pat

  1. Thanks for the wiki link to Thrill Me. That sounds like a fantastically fun show to work on. It's different, but it's a musical so you'll really get a lot of experience working with that. Congrats on that one. HM always chooses interesting scripts. I can't wait to see it!
Also, happy birthday to your grandfather. I think going to his celebration excuses you from visiting KF on her birthday, but only because we love you and your family is awesome. :D As always, I love reading your blog.
